Task Types
Records in IC-Inspector fall into three categories:
Assigned Tasks
These are specific tasks allocated to you by an integrity engineer or work planner. For example, you may be required to perform a general visual inspection (GVI) on a designated section of piping.
Ad Hoc Tasks
These are not assigned to individual inspectors but are available for use as needed. Engineers or work planners can create ad hoc tasks for specific workpacks. If you have an assigned task within a workpack, any related ad hoc tasks will also appear in your task list.
You can use ad hoc tasks to record observations that may require follow-up. For instance:
If your GVI procedure indicates that corrosion should trigger a UT measurement, locate and complete the relevant ad hoc UT task.
If you observe a leak, use the corresponding ad hoc leak task to record the event.
You can record multiple events for a single ad hoc task. The task remains in your list even after events have been recorded.
Ad Hoc Events
These are created when you record an event using an ad hoc task. Each ad hoc event appears as a separate entry in your task list, while the original ad hoc task remains available for future use.
Tip
To easily distinguish between task types, we recommend assigning specific row colours to ad hoc tasks and ad hoc events under Settings (see Settings).
