Launch Tasks

Launching a task opens the relevant event or sensor form so you can record inspection, maintenance or sensor data for that task. The form that appears depends on the event type assigned to the task.

When you complete and save the event details, an event record is created and linked to the task. If the task uses a sensor event type, a sensor record is created instead. In both cases, the task is marked as complete once the record is saved.

To launch a task:

  1. Open the Tasks tab from any supported location such as the PLANNING screen, the WORKPACKS screen, when editing tasks in supported dashboards or when editing workpacks.

  2. Select one or more tasks (multi-select is supported) and choose Launch from the toolbar.

  3. In the dialog that opens, enter the required details in the form.

    Note

The Start Clock and End Clock fields are not populated automatically. You must enter these values manually on the Survey tab.

  4. Click OK.

    Result

    • If you have selected multiple tasks, the event forms are presented one after another, allowing you to complete each task in turn.

    • An event record is created and linked to each launched task.

    • Event numbers are assigned automatically for each event type by incrementing the highest existing number. Once completed, the relevant event type and event number is displayed in the Event column for the task in the task grid.

    • If a sensor event type is assigned to the task, a sensor record is created, which will be visible on the Sensor tab of the Assets screen for the relevant asset. Once completed, the sensor name and timestamp appear in the Sensor column for the task in the task grid.

    • Each task is marked as complete.

Note

Only incomplete tasks can be launched.
