Set Status

Task statuses in IC-Inspector are either:

  • Automatically applied based on user actions, or

  • Manually selected by inspectors on the Event Details screen.

Automatically Applied Statuses

The following statuses are set by IC-Inspector based on specific actions:

Failed to Sync

Applied when the task could not be sent to the database server during synchronisation.

In Progress

Applied under the following conditions:

  • The user has started editing the task and updated and saved any field value.

  • If the user views an event and navigates back from the Event Detail screen without making any changes:

    • No fields with default values: In Progress status is not applied.

    • Default field values present: Fields are auto-populated and In Progress status is applied.

Not Started

Status is applied when the task has been synchronised to the tablet but no action has been recorded on it.

  • This status appears only as a grouping header in the Status view.

  • Tasks with this status do not display a status label in the task list.

Task Status: <Custom Status>

Applied based on custom statuses defined in your NEXUS IC database configuration. In the Status view, these appear with the prefix “TASK STATUS:” in grouping headers.

Completed

Applied when the task is marked as complete (see Complete Tasks).

Synchronised

Applied when the task has been successfully sent to the database server after synchronisation.


Change Status Manually

After completing all required fields on the Event Details screen, you can update the task’s status as follows:

  1. Tap the Status button at the top of the screen.

  2. Choose an option from the drop-down list.

The available status options depend on your organisation’s configuration in NEXUS IC (see Task Status).

Once updated, the status will be sent to the master database during the next synchronisation. This helps planners track progress and determine whether tasks need reassignment or further action. The task will continue to appear on your task list in IC-Inspector until it has been reassigned or marked as Completed.

Note

Ad hoc events can only be completed or deleted, they cannot have any other statuses.

Set Status to Completed

In IC-Inspector, you can mark a task as Completed in one of the following ways:

  • By swiping the task’s row on the Tasks screen (see Tasks Screen) and tapping on Mark as Complete:

  • By changing the status of the task on the Event Details screen (see Maintain Event Details).

    To set the status to completed, tap Status on the top of the screen and select Mark as Complete. You can get to the Event Details screen by launching the task as described in Launch Tasks.

Once marked as completed, the task will be uploaded to the server during the next synchronisation (see Sync to IC-Inspector).
