Add/Edit Lookup List Item Dialog

The Add Lookup List Item and Edit Lookup List Item dialogs are used to define and maintain individual items within a lookup list.

See below for the description of fields in these dialogs.

Field Name

Description

Value

The value passed to functions that use this lookup list field as an input. If a lookup list item has a sensible numeric value, this is often entered in the Value field.

For example, if the lookup list is called Anode depletion and an item has a Comment of 0 - 25%, the Value might be set to 25. If the lookup list items do not have a sensible numerical value, the Value is often set to the same text as the Comment.

Comment

The descriptive text displayed to users in the form field and in the drop-down list.

Icon

Optional field. You can import an icon or image that is displayed alongside the lookup list item in forms and in the drop-down list.

Note: The size of image containers in the drop-down list is determined by the largest image used in the lookup list. For best results, use images of the same size.

Item Order

Optional field. Controls the order in which items appear in the drop-down list.

If no item order is specified, items are sorted alphabetically by the Comment field.

You can also manage item ordering by clicking Item Order at the top of the Configuration - Lookup Lists dialog. This opens the Item Order dialog, where you can reorder items using the Move Up and Move Down toolbar buttons.

Available only in the Edit Lookup List dialog. Displays the change history for the lookup list item. See Checking History for details.
