Third-party DVRs

IC-Inspection can be used to remote control digital video recorders during online inspection (see Add a Third-Party DVR Device), enabling operators to manage video recording as part of the inspection workflow.

Supported Third-party DVRs

In addition to controlling our own IC-Recorder, IC-Inspection can control the following DVRs through a DVR protocol connection:

DVR Protocol Options

To enable IC-Inspection to remote control your DVR, you can choose one of the following options:

Custom DVR Protocol

We can build a custom protocol to work with your existing application.

  • Development is performed on a rates basis according to your specification.

  • A DVR system must be provided for testing.

  • Future updates are undertaken on your instruction.

A quotation can be provided on review of your specification.

Generic DVR Protocol

Alternatively, you can implement our standard DVR protocol for NEXUS.

For a one-off fee of 5000 USD, we provide:

  • The generic DVR protocol specification document for NEXUS

  • A software-based test harness that emulates IC-Inspection for comprehensive interface testing

  • Phone and email support during implementation

  • Updates for new features or protocol changes

  • Optional display of your company logo on this website

  • IC-Recorder: freely distributable licences of our digital video recording software (including integrated software-based text overlay) for contingency use on your hardware

Third-party DVR Configuration

  1. Left-click on the main video preview.

  2. In the dialog that appears, select Systems Setup & Admin ‣ Advanced ‣ NEXUS IC DVR control.
