What’s New in IC-Inspector

The following new or enhanced features are available for IC-Inspector in release 6.9:

Platform Compatibility

  • IC-Inspector for Android is now available. It is available for free from the Google Play Store.

  • IC-Inspector is now compatible with iPadOS 16 or later.

Single Sign-On (SSO)

You can now use your company credentials to log in to IC-Inspector using Single Sign-On (SSO). See Log In to IC-Inspector.

Improved Synchronisation

  • Sync has been optimised resulting in faster sync times that conserve both battery life and bandwidth.

  • The app’s reliability in low-connectivity environments has been enhanced, allowing it to manage brief dropouts more effectively.

  • The handling of background sync has been refined. When the app enters background mode during sync, it will now retry syncing once focus is restored.

User Interface Enhancements

  • The new sidebar icon is available in the top left corner of each screen, which allows you to toggle between showing or hiding the sidebar.

  • A new Status view is now available at the bottom of all screens that display task lists, such as Summary, Tasks and Drawings. This feature allows you to group tasks by their current status, such as In Progress, Completed, or Failed to Sync (see Grouping of Tasks).

  • The total number of all assigned tasks are now displayed next to the Tasks element of the sidebar, and the task count is also shown for each grouping header visible on the Task, Workpack, Asset, and Status screens.

  • You can expand or collapse the list of tasks under the grouping header they belong to.

    For each group, a new drop-down icon is visible for the headers on the Tasks and Summary screens, which you can use to expand or collapse the list of tasks under that.


  • The Search icon at the top of the Summary, Tasks and Drawings screens has been replaced with a search bar.

Task Management Improvements

  • You no longer need to assign ad hoc tasks to each inspector. Any unassigned ad hoc tasks in a workpack will be synchronised to all inspectors that have at least one assigned task in that workpack.

  • Global Table Link field types are now supported in IC-Inspector.

  • The new AD HOC EVENTS grouping is available on the Tasks screen when you’re grouping by tasks. Any ad hoc event items that you create from ad hoc tasks are now inserted under this grouping.


  • You can now delete ad hoc events using the new Delete button on the top of the Event Details screen.

  • On the Event Details screen, you can now perform unit conversion for numeric fields (see Convert Unit for Numeric Fields).

  • You can now add multiple photos from your tablet’s photo library. You can then scroll through the images using the scrollbar.

New Settings Options

The following new options are available on the Settings screen:

  • The new Sign In Using field is available under SERVER, which allows you to choose whether you want to sign in to IC-Inspector using SSO or using your database-specific credentials.

  • The new Sections Collapsed by Default option is available, which allows you to determine whether you want the tasks to appear collapsed on the screens by default.

  • The new Save Captured Photos to Photo Library option is available, which enables automatically saving photos to your iPad’s photo library when taking new photos. This ensures that photos are not lost when tasks are removed from the iPad.

  • You can set up a colour for distinguishing ad hoc tasks and events. The new Adhoc tasks colour and Adhoc events colour options are available, which allow you to select a colour to be applied for the relevant rows of the ad hoc tasks and events in the task list view. By default, no colour is applied.

  • Under SYNC, the following new options are available:

    • Upload Completed Tasks enables you to upload completed task data to the NEXUS IC database without synchronising in the opposite direction. This means you can upload data without retrieving new tasks from the database.

    • Send Sync Log to Support allows you to send a sync log to NEXUS Support in case of issues with sync.

  • Under APP INFO, you can click About for the following options:

    • View the current app version

    • Navigate to IC-Web

    • Access the documentation

    • Check for available app updates
