Heading¶
The Heading panel is a graphical representation of the serial data being collected in the Heading field (which usually represents ROV heading). This allows you to tell at a glance which compass direction is left of the ROV, and which is to the right (which is useful when commentating pipeline inspections), and which face of a structure you are likely looking at (which is useful when you are commentating structure inspections).
It can be viewed in two modes:
- North up - The yellow heading indicator will move, keeping north at the top of the panel.
- Heading up – The yellow heading indicator will remain stationary at the top of the panel with the compass points rotating accordingly.
To switch between North up and Heading up modes, right click in the white space anywhere in the Heading panel and choose the mode from the drop down menu.
